Stan and Joan Russell

The day she could hang up her pots and pans was a glorious day for Joan Russell… and for her husband Stan, too. Not because she wasn’t a good cook, but because it meant they had finally gotten rid of all the responsibilities that came with owning a home.

Leaving the house they lived in for 26 years wasn’t all that difficult, because they knew their lives would be so much easier. Now Stan has more time to devote to his second love, watching sports, while Joan enjoys her quilting. They love having the freedom to do what they want, when they want, except at dinnertime – then they leave the cooking to the professionals.

“We were so ready to make the move. We were tired of housekeeping, and snow shoveling and all that went with our house. We’re happy to be here.”
